The worst (by a country mile) example I ever saw of people having their lives ruled by the dreaded TV was when we owned Manzac Ferme close to Nontron, Dordogne.
An old couple arrived in their Shogun towing a drop dead gorgeous Hymer van that had lunges at both ends.
After pitching their van, the man then spent ages setting up his enormous (almost 2 mtr.) sat dish and then as soon as he finished he then immediately set up another identical dish next to it. Then inside the van he carefully positioned a large TV at each end of the van and then closed the doors for the night.
Both of them were hard of hearing and were wearing large hearing aids....................... within a couple of hours I had received several complaints about the very high volume levels that was coming from the van and had to go and ask them to either turn the infernal xyz TV's off or at the very least turn the volume levels down very considerably, sadly they did neither, so instead of stopping with us for 2 weeks as booked, they left the very next morning!
Over the years we had quite a few similar incidents, possibly the worst one being a young couple who stored their van with us at our second site in France, La Tournerie Ferme, close to Montignac. This couple were into watching sport and they used to sit in their awning watching the TV which was positioned in the lounge of their van with no thought whatsoever for anyone pitched close to them!!
