Arghhhhh! Broken the bed again!!

On my new van on Christmas Day!! Grrrrr! The old old one (rear lounge bed runners) broke a few times and I always carried a few spares lengths and cut offs but of course I don't have any for this one. 2015 Swift Esprit 496. Its just one end where its started to come away and may be usable with care but my immediate thoughts were to just get some wooden supports to prop up the broken end and hopefully stop it splitting further along and rendering the bed unusable. We are in the lake district so I have emailed Bardsea leisure in Ulverston. They wont have them. So my task for now is to jury rig a temporary repair. I guess ill be taking the hacksaw out with me today then!

Thats the most frustrating thing. It is. Well it has. Worse than that all I was doing was kneeling on it putting some stuff up in the lockers. (Always a no no). Its not like we were in the middle of some Christmas canoodling and thats out the feckin window now!!

Can you not modify slats or runners from ikea when they open ?
Maybe a member on here has done a conversion and has something to help you out

LOL! As I am sure you know I took the ferkin jack out as I figured ill never be using it!

Don't worry. With my superb make mend and do DIY skills I am sure ill fettle it!

Im now driving around the lake district looking for bits of timber I can snaffle. Fcuk me!! Im literally surrounded by millions of tons of wood but can I find an 18 x 2 inch bit of timber? Nope.

I spotted a broken fence on the way here on a back lane but I'm not sure I'm criminally minded enough to nick a bit of it. I couldn't even nick a sweet off the pick and mix in Woolworths when I was 9. The good thing about this van is the rear lounge is long enough to make two singles which might be a better idea if I get sh*t faced tonight anyway as I'm bound to flop on it at 3am having been to the loo and forget it's dodgy.
