An insurance company from hell, avoid at all cost.

Is anyone insuring for parking overnight on the road at their homes and if so who are you with? AIB told me they could only find one underwriter that would do this but I found that hard to believe. Of course it bumps up the price a fair bit. Mainly the van is on the drive but it does get left out sometimes for a week or so before a trip or if Im using the bike a lot (Van blocks the entire drive).

I have to park on the roadside to fill up the water tank. I'm really not comfortable doing that, even though it's only a few minutes in a village street with a 20mph limit. I'd not routinely park the motorhome overnight on the roadside.

Yes so is mine but I was hoping others might be with other providers. You see loads of motorhomes parked on the roadsides up here. They cant all be with AIB. Ive even seen them left long term overnight in car parks unattended. I wonder how they cover that.

Is it worth knocking on a few doors and asking Barry?

Oh yeah I can just see motorhome owners being delighted with that! :D I could try and sell them some lucky heather while Im on!

I'd be surprised if they toom offence. I wouldn't have a problem if another MH owner knocked on my door for a chat tbh. Occasionally we get them parking in a the small parking area adjacent to our property and we have had chats. I always offer them water emptying, fresh water top up and toilet emptying too. No heather has been offered or bought either....
