Hi all im looking for some advice please, I have a AFERIY Portable Power Station which is connected to two 175 watt solar panels on the roof, I also have a victron dc to dc Orion charger connected to my van battery so when there is no sun I can use the van to charge the Aferiy, is it possible to have the solar and victron connected to the Aferiy at the same time or will there be a big bang when the sun is out and the van engine is running.

I don't see why not. Presumably you have an MPPT Charge Controller in the system as well? I would think though that you would DC charge the Aferiy indirectly from the alternator via a 12V socket connected to the habitation battery which is being charged by the DC/DC whilst the solar input is managed by the MPPT?

I'm sure others will advise though, don't take my word for it! :)

As long as the two combined sources don't exceed the maximum charge current I'd have thought you'd be ok.
Can you post a link to the destructions?

Not sure most power station have built mppt controller so dose not need the Victron oontroler, ??? tell me if I'm wrong .

Probably Bazz. In which case would separate connections directly from the solar panels to the power bank be needed?

Easier to do it via the leisure batteries which are already being supplied by the solar I would have thought?

I use a blueti 180 p. With 200w portable sola panel brilliant when the sun shines , plus I have fitted a separate controller to leisure battery so I can top up leasure battery from portable panel , note power stations solar panels Dose not t have a solar controer ,solar l ordinary portable panel has built in controler and crocodile clips

Yeah I see that Bazz, but I think he wants to be able to charge his power bank from his existing roof panels?

Most of these power stations are not 12V internally, although they usually have a 12V input for charging that is converted to the voltage required by the internal battery. For this reason I would not use a B2B directly because it is designed to sense the 12V battery charge and would not get this from a power station. Just plug it into a 12V socket as suggested by @Robmac at #2.

I charge my aferiy via a breaker on 12 volt circuit. Solar and b2b connected to same circuit via breakers if not enough coming in from these then starts charging from lifpo4 house battery. Can switch as necessary to keep both good, it's a faff but works for me. Just purchased a new aferiy with Bluetooth which I will be using in my classic LT28 so can switch on an off remotely to control power.
