3 Way Fridges On Ebay Opinions?

I have the fridge running on gas, how long untill its starts to cool the interior? I tried the 240v & 12v neither work, I suspect the gas wont either.....buy cheap buy twice.......

It will take at least an hour before you can feel the vanes inside the fridge getting even cool let alone cold, to get the fridge to working tempreture it can take up to 3 hours. If you can't feel the vanes getting cold after 3 hours then yes I'd say there was a problem. However long have you had the fridge on 240v mains? Phil

Is there any sign of leakage around the rear pipework. One of the way to tell if an absorbtion fridge is working is that after about 1-2 hours the pipework gets hot near the top were the external cooling lanes are. If after 3 hours the pipework is still cold at the top end then it would suggest that the refrigerant has escaped, if that's the case you've got a guarantee issue if its less than a year old. Phil

Thanlks for the advise, problem is I've had it now for a few months, life has been very hectic. Should have checked it when purchased, but you know how it is...
Ill do the checks mentioned, I had the 240v on for an hour, should I be able to hear anything when its on the mains or 12v?

No it's totally silent, even on gas there is no noise unless you have a big double freezer fridge then you can hear a slight roar but even that is difficult to hear.
An hour is nowhere near long enough on mains honestly, you must give it at least 3-4 hours.
As for 12volts you would have to flattern a 100ah AGM battery before it would show signs of getting cold .Phil

By the by, the internal light only works when on 240v it won't work on battery or gas with this particular model. Phil
