Does your mh not have an inbuilt charger that kicks in automatically when you plug EHU cable in?

Have checked mine out and it puts 18a in when on hook up if batteries need charge. I have just had to purchase an add in charger that will put an additional 18a into the batteries. It says float charge is max of 2a on each charger but with them linking together I am guessing it will be a max of 2a in total once both fitted.

I have never had to bother with battery banks before and although I have used split relays before for charging additional battery (sidecar outfit rather than caravan) there is a lot more comes in on mh. I have 2 x 135ah leisure batteries plus the starter battery which I haven't yet checked ah of and have been told I will be okay when I add the second charger. If you find the output of your charger and work on a multiplier of 10 to size it to your leisure batteries then I think it was up to 20% of the start battery size if you are topping that up as well.

It looks like there are a lot of different ways to do it but ultimately you need to keep batteries up not let them drop too low. I will probably be getting solar added sooner rather than later.
