Its a very narrow road (with some gates) and hairpins at the dent end, but plenty of places to pass. should be fine with a 6m van. Plenty of spots to spend the night as well.(especially near the end of the track to fell end farm)

Not sure I understand - we are not being treated any differently at all - they have not said anywhere you cannot park there during the day. I believe FLS are far more in tune with our interests than many local councils.

Doesnt sound like its getting any charge. All lead acid batteries self discharge (usually over a couple of months). Alternators often take a very small amount of current when off as well, I suspect, as above your battery is goosed unfortunately.
