Well that was a first - we went away last night to one of our favourite 'secret' places deep into the Galloway forest.
Awoken about 11pm by an enormous engine noise.
Well it was only an army Hercules flying at what must have been 200ft above us. (We only knew because it flew back over this morning in daylight)!

They where probably just strimming some of the new growth off the tree tops. Usually use a Chinook for that though.

As Scotia said, there is a major exercise on at present, we saw a very low Hercules near Inverary yesterday.

A Hercules does a flypast here usually on Thursday afternoon, occasionally a pair of them. Height? What height!
