  2. First timer - off to scotland

Also just had 2weeks away in the SW of Scotland (Argyll) and very surprised how quiet it has been, and plenty of lonely places to wild camp, although after 40 years of touring here, I know the best bits! (Kilmartin glen and loch Creran to name a couple). However Oban and Glencoe were a...
  3. Change the name. This term is outdated: WildCamping

Personally I hate the term wild camping, but respect the view of the majority on this site, and like the site and all it stands for. I come from a background of backpacking in Scotland where you carry all your needs for a couple of nights or so on your back. (I still do this occasionally)...
  4. Stay the night in Scottish forestry selected car parks legally in 2020

  5. Tyre pressure monitor

Just had a similar problem with my ebay 'Dunlop' set - I was just about to get one of my tyres re-fitted due to a slow leak, shown by the TPMS - but its seems its actually the little sensor that is leaking. Think I will just go back to manually checking tyres before every journey.

  11. Weight checks

This is absolutely the way to go in working out your tyre pressures - its too important to guess, or not take the time to research, or better still find out on a weighbridge, axle weights. The only deviations would be for example driving off road, and needing to lower pressures for sand or...

  15. Van Security

most of us have plastic seitz or similar large windows - must be the easiest way in to a van with not much force. Agree that hidden engine immobilisation is the best way and not leaving valuables in view.
  16. Peugeot Boxer 1996 2.5td crunching in 3rd and 5th

synchro rings are very susceptible to the wrong type (or contaminated) hypoid oil, or if gl5 has been used instead of gl4. However the damage may already have been done. A quick oil change will tell as others have said.
