LMAO
We have a motorhome
It's a new van with all the conveniences of modern life.
I don't do camping , we don't pee in buckets , bottles ,poo in bags , skulk about public toilets waiting to dump cassettes, in my world a cassette toilet is useless in a motorhome.
It's full in a day

Full in a day ! How many of you is there ?
You state a cassette toilet is useless in a motorhome, why did you buy a motorhome with one fitted then ?

'ere we go a waste tank under the van.
Spare cassette goes in topbox. Topbox in
cradle under van. Now you see it now you
don't. External where it belongs.

Ok

Been living in vans full time for pretty much 10 years and have had new and old vans in that time but as for knowing everything how do you work that out ?
I actually said in my opinion it is better and I really couldn't care less what others do or don't do .
Yes you post IMO
But you repeat...
Being CC yet you do not like Cadacs or Cassettes.
Yes use your MoHo as suits you.
Give your opinions but.

I'm convinced nobody bothers reading anything properly these days :)

Your right !....I followed your recipe for Carrot cake and ended up with a Strawberry Pavlova ! Whats that all about ?

And Charlie not laughing at you getting covered in Shite, but yours truly once repaired a Saniflo (spawn of the devil) And I was adorned with its contents too :mad2: The commonality my "er in Doors" at the time found it funny too, Was of no assistance with towels etc parylised with giggling for at least half an hour she was and that night sat watching TV and suddenly a laughing fit !

PS have you noticed wild camping threads locations some people seem obsessed with toilets and where they can perform their abulutions Very British

Well I enjoy Charlies comments and his dead pan approach, I am sure his dad was Tony Hancock :)

Lets be honest here, most folks buying a new motorhome are not wanting to pee in buckets and I would think a young couple with a couple of kids would soon fill a cassette. Some may be able to make it last but are they REALLY fit for purpose? We dont poo in bags or pee in buckets and we usually get 2 to 3 days out of a cassette, clean water is around the same so it DOES limit how long you can stay off grid if you use the motorhome as it was designed so Charlie is right when he says they are made for camp site users if you are going to dispose of as another poster has stated DEFRA guidelines.

We have just purchased a second cassette to stretch it out as water is easier to come by.

I know it was a big mistake even buying another motorhome but heyho.

All motorhomes are to lesser or greater extent a mistake.
For long term living and no doubt by extension full timing, a lot of
compromises have to be made, and a lot of inconveniences endured.
All you can do is mitigate these downsides and hope the positive
aspects outweigh the negatives and for as long as possible.

Even the largest RV has only the area of my lounge, and apart
from A/C, less facilities, so even that has to be somewhat of a
compromise. 5 months in a van is more than enough for me.
Makes me appreciate a toilet where I don't have to reconsider
a second flush :D

Tried a house last year and hated it
To be honest I preferred the £800 caravan we had last year to this £100 k Hymer
No expectations of the caravan and it had a bigger cassette and the fridge worked better, my ice lollies are soft today !
I really don't get why people put up with the modern crap they sell us .

Thats it Charlie, I will purchase an £800 caravan and do you a swap :)

Oh hang on, yours is a manual box isn't it? Cr*p! :)

Yep it's a manual box with a horrible sounding feckin sewing machine Fiat thing .

Ha ha you can keep it then, you know Hymer build some with Merc engines dont you? Feckin cheapskate you should have splashed the cash and got one of this Concordia's :)

I agree this might apply in the UK, but certainly not on the continent. I managed 2 months consecutive wild camping in Greece without staying at a single campsite, 6 weeks in Norway and a month on aires in France. In fact the rare campsite visits were not due to full cassettes but having several loads of washing to do and/or needing fast reliable Wi-Fi.

But was it really the house you resented, or was it rather what the house represented,
feelings of entrapment, commitment, the feeling of perhaps no going back?
Naturally I wouldn't expect a reply, it's personal and your business.

Yes UK Shaun, its our first year with a motorhome and only used in UK so far, I am looking forward to great things in the New Year when we venture across the channel :)

An interesting observation and one that resonates with myself I felt like that for a considerable time moving back into bricks and mortar pub accommodation with work

After a bit of re adjustment the same now applies with the flat , Full timing again coping with no address ready access to Doctors etc all which seem more important now

Psychologists earn their money with me as a patient, I hope I have decent values but they certainly don't fit the norm and I suspect never will

Skip to 13:50 on this video to see how the loo system works.
I might very well be mistaken (I often am!), but does this van have a CHOICE of cassette or sewage tank or not?

That set up is fascinating, i am a little confused to exactly what is going on with the 3 compartments, I understand the first tank opens up via a valve into the second big tank, the second tank has what appears to be the final waste outlet but is also attached to another tank with no outlet?

You know everything and your opinions are always better than others.
Are you related to the "dearly departed former member from Brittany" ?

Wondered why david hadnt commented recently.... by departed do you been left this earth?

Must be the affect of those posts on Lourdes, but I have this vision of a
Motorcaravan borne aloft by a host of heavenly angels, departing
Winchester Cathedral.
