ive been trying to get on to it this morning...tried quite a few times also tried t.othersite. with no luck....thank goodness its back now, was eginning to think it wasa this machine.......
then found out i was able to access other sites, so thought it might be the fault of wc site.

It was the "Foo-Foo" valve, just needed a tap with the big hammer. :lol-061:

This was an issue at the hosting company, the systems in Canada turned off my server in France due to some new billing software they have started to use that is broken. Someone in Canada did not pay, but the server ID was the same in both countries. Apparently, the new system works internationally when it did not before.

All sorted now and they are very very sorry.

I want compo and I want it now. I now have post traumatic stress disorder, agoraphobia, suicidal tendencies and a yearning need for something for nothing.

Pay up big man or my solicitors Shyster & Crooke will be knocking on your Heki.

Actually a big fat cream cake will do it.

Is it not possable to build our own ubuntu server.

Up until this server I have always built my own servers then shipped them to the datacentres for installation.

The thing is that the parts for servers are expensive and they need replacing every 2 years. This current server would cost £5800 if it was pre built or about £4000 for the parts to build it.

So although the hosting costs thousands of pounds per year it does include the hardware upgrades, off site backups, and DDOS protection. The server is on a 1 GBs connection and will allow simultaneous downloads at 500MBs.

And if your next question is "do we really need this?" then the answer is yes. Google now indexes this website about every 5 minutes and other search engines do the same several times per day. This means we are number 1 in the search engines and get lots of organic traffic. We have had times in the summer where the server has been running at 85% load and that is with twin 8 core Xeon server CPU's

ahhhh...thanks admin for that.....NOW I UNDERSTAND..........so clear now........makes the mind boggle......or scrambles it lol

guess one has to be intelligent for all that......eh. more to it than meets the eye.

He's one clever geezer is that Phil. He made my ears bleed when I once asked him about something computery. Four hours later I managed to edge away far enough before my tiny brain imploded. :rolleyes2:

Tried to get my own back next day by talking about historic houses, his loud snoring after 3 minutes suggested he wasn't in the least interested.

The server I rent has the same power as about 10 high spec home PC's, each of the Xeon cores is more powerful than the core in a normal PC. The 64GB 8 channel memory costs £1200 on its own. The retail price of the CPU's is nearly £1000 each.

never mind haranging the man for technical explanations none of us understand

HE FIXED IT YEAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

I just thought I had been blocked by everybody nearly went to stand in the corner again 😜
