Well, off to Scotland in a couple of hours or so, my favourite place on earth!

Playing it by ear mostly, but certainly visiting Glencoe, Applecross and the Cairngorms, and culminating in the Scottish meet at St Andrews. Will post some pics when I get back.

I'm heading up on Thursday see you Friday have a good trip.

Have a good trip Rob. Went to Mull, Ft Bill, n Aviemore between Xmas and new year. At this time of the year with the low light the scenery is stunning. But please be aware of the A82 between Bridge of Orchy and Glen Coe village with the high winds. It's notorious for blowing box vans and motorhomes onto Rannoch Moor. :)

You're braver than me, the wind has put me off until next week.

Ah we are heading that way in a couple of weeks. I would be interested to know of any good stops. Enjoy! :)

I would always recommend Applecross, but it's an interesting journey over the pass at this time of year. We always stop off at a small site just outside Aviemore (Rothiemurchus), it's a beautiful little site, with excellent facilities and brilliant walks into the Lairig Ghru, gives us a chance to top up with water, empty cassette etc.

Hopefully we'll get there ok! Go up every January, love it at that time of year.

I'm sure you will. Is there usually snow on the mountains ? I've never been up there in January.
I will just make sure I have full water tanks plenty of gas and food then if I get into bad weather I will be ok for a few days.

The last few years have seen masses of snow in the mountains, it is stunning.
