Off to the bonny land

Yes, I'm off up the West coast next Tues / Wed. Would have loved to attend the meet as I have never been to one but unfortunately I'm visiting friends on Syke and we have made arrangements for next Friday / Saturday then I will be travelling home on Sunday.
Hopefully I will be able to attend another meet in the future, they sound great fun and it will be nice to put put faces to names.

That Skye bridge has been a Godsend. The number of Calmac ferry cancellations recently have been major.Enjoy!

Young Rob I do hope your showing Julie the spectacular scenery or are you just doing a tour of pubs.:cheers::lol-049::lol-049:

Just wondering if it's nice and warm in the pub Rob.

I hope your having a good time and the weather is going to break soon.

Hi Robmac, hope your trip is going well.
Sadly I've had to delay my visit until next week, was setting off tonight. Grandson has come down with what looks like tonsilitus or an access on his tonsil. I've had him to the doctors and antibiotics will hopefully sort him out.
His mum is on an important placement to do with her degree or she would have looked after him so I have him until he recovers, hopefully next week.
Fortunately as I'm retired I can more or less go away when I want so not a major issue apart from Ive filled the motorhome up with diesel, water, food etc, etc !
Dropping the water out and draining boiler now before it freezes tonight.

Are you still snowed in the pub Rob ? .................. :lol-049:

Back home now Graham, after some interesting weather over the week! A motorhome belonging to one of the power workers got spun 360° on the campsite at Applecross, so I'm glad we were a bit lower down! Headed to Rothiemurchus on Monday where we had a foot of snow. Stayed there until Friday when we carried on to the St Andrews meet, which was great.

Sadly, Julie's trip was blighted by illness all week, but she soldiered on, mostly confined to the van, but she didn't mind me being confined to the pub as long as I brought her a meal back.

Will post some pics later today.

Applecross

Hi Robmac.

I love Applecross but not so sure in this weather, was the pass Ok or did you use the lower route.

Regards Snowbirds.

We went over the pass on the Friday night, with winds gusting at 100mph which was pretty hairy to say the least! When we left on the Monday, we came around the coast road, which as you will know, is pretty stunning.
We love Applecross too, and try and get there at least once a year. As always, warm reception, excellent beer and food at the Inn.

Unfortunately, the photos haven't turned out too well, I used my phone, which is usually ok, but must have had moisture on the lens.

Here's a couple though, to give an idea of the conditions;
