these are good idea to put on any ladders then yer able to prop against van to gain access to the roof for that once a year scrub i use these every day and are excellent
Ladder Mitts on eBay!
maybe shop about might be cheaper elsewhere first example i came to

I cut a bit of old carpet, about 3 feet wide by 2 feet. Cut a couple of slots in it which fit over the top of the ladder.

It rests between the van and the ladder.

Simples. :cool1:

I put a pallet on the forklift at my unit, get a mop and bucket and then send Julie up there!

A far better idea is use 3" insulation foam for 3/4 pipe split along a 12" piece and tape to your ladder a lot cheaper too

When I clean and that’s not very often the roof of my van I used 15mm pipe insulation.
Cut to a length of lets say eight inch, opened up and fastened to the top of the ladder with garden string. One could use cable ties if you have any that are long enough or even elastic bands.
But, I do find that the 15mm pipe insulation can split so I would recommend one using 25mm pipe insulation instead, far far cheaper than the Mittens…

I can do better than that, I have a A frame and tow a forklift around Europe so i can do the same when im on Airies. ;)

Up through the Heki to get to my roof.
Looking to install a rear ladder and roof rack to carry a windsurfer though.

easy answer to get a clean camper is to drive it north and go and see mariesnowgoose and when you leave she has washed the camper and done brillant job despite my protest at the job being done

Same here and i`ve got 2 Full Size Heki`s, 1 at the front and 1 at the back.

I use a Workmate in the lounge at the front to stand on and the Bed at the back to stand on as well.

By using both Heki`s and one of these :- Blackspur Heavy Duty Extending Wash Brush | Camping Equipment | www.Camping-Online.co.uk i can comfortably reach the entire roof.

Am I missing something?

What's wrong with a step ladder, then you don't need to lean it against your van side?

I have an "A" ladder that extends on one side so it does not touch the roof at all therefor putting no pressure on the side. Our motorhome is quite high and I manage quite well.
I have to admit to giving the top a wash every month or two. Still, they do seem a good buy though. Some good idea's too.

My extension ladder can also be configured as a stepladder (or 'A' shape, if you like) but it is much more stable when resting against the van and I am using an extendable brush. The 'ladder' leg of it has an extended base for extra stability. My driveway is also sloping.

I climb up the camper back ladders, get on the roof and scrub it from front to back.

No cost involved, apart from the bucket of hot water and vehicle shampoo.

:)
