Many of the home schooling crowd from england have moved here, this is because there sale of home in england has bought a house here with a lot of money left over, plus not so crowded and a slower pace of life, and home schooling is allowed here.Often in Ireland you encounter people who appear to be English, but frequently although born and raised in England, they have Irish parent(s) and have decided to relocate to Ireland. Particularly on the back of the Celtic tiger boom.
I wonder if some of the Scottish blowi-ins are similar. You only have to look at the number of members on here who declare Irish heritage, useful for the passport to see how it can happen. Not so obvious in Scotland as they don't have an EU passport.
Of course it could simply be the case that said English have had enough of an increasingly crowded and changing homeland and moved to a perceived better quality of life.

Meanwhile, it's a good place to top up, just don't take the wee.
A chance to revisit the old one about Snow White in the bath feeling grumpy; but he didn't like it, so he go out ... Sleepy and Dopey were happy to wait their turn and hope that they wouldn't need to visit Doc ...You should leave unwelcome alone.![]()
Perhaps proving that the difference between a git and a gite is one 'e' ...A friend runs 2 gites in a converted barn in France with shared (huge) rear garden. He won’t rent to 2 English tenants because they always fall out and cause trouble.![]()

A wee tap is a shirt or other garment worn on the upper body; as in, when the sun shines, the cry 'Taps arf' may be heard, and beer bellies break out en masse ...Is the wee tap a different colour? Should be yellow I reckon.
If they go to the bother of putting a small shelf on for a watering can they must be giving their consent to use oneThere is only one,its a blue pedestal, it he's a small shelf to Stand the watering can on a passive button to open the tap.

Thankfully, they are a very small minority.
