Fuel Prices

I’ve been on a few cruises calling in to various small islands in the middle of vast oceans and what I don’t understand is how come fuel is cheaper in for instance Madeira than in the UK ? Nothing to do with taxes I don’t suppose. . .

Mid 180s in Kent yesterday, down about 8p from a week or so ago......but the pug partner came out the MOT with an advisory for a steering joint

Seen between €1.93 and 1.98 in Belgium for regular diesel.

Don’t need any though cause topped up at home, £2.05 for premium :D :ROFLMAO:

Dewsbury Sainsburys diesel £1.76.9 it's slow to come back down fromwhen it was $15 a barrel higher at its peak.

Diesel price has continued to come down in the month we've been in France. Making our way towards Calais now for the trip home, €1.929 (£1.66) at LeClerc in Boulogne today.
D'oh, only done 20 miles since I filled up at €2.07 😒

We. are in France now and the prices are indeed coming down. I can't get why people are comparing different countries. They all have different tax systems and different price structures. Just buy the fuel you need and stop fretting! Enjoy the travelling!

Some are travelling through the countries mentioned. Handy info for some.
No fretting and not interested in the individual tax system of the countries either. Not while on holiday. :ROFLMAO:
But the tax system of each country will have an impact on the fuel price; and that tax %age rate will have a significant impact on the overall price per litre at the pump ...

Places like Madeira receive big subsidies from the Portuguese and EU, so yes the taxes you pay on mainland keep prices down on islands.
