Scarbados

Bit of excitement in Bridlington. They found a grenade yesterday on the beach and blew it up. Apparently they found another one today on the other beach. :D

You need to stop leaving them around everywhere, naughty young feller-me-lad! Bad enough already you being a mad axe murderer an’ that… 😂😉

I read earlier that it was found by a Metal Detectorist on the beach and taken home and the bomb squad took it back to the beach for disposal. Can't find the article now though.
Possibly. I am sure I read there was a second one as well but of course FB is not the most reliable of sources. 😂

Toy yacht in the Glen, Pitch & Putt, canoe on Peasholme Lake, Battleships and Aircraft, Illuminated Tree Walk, Water Chute, Train to Scalby, dodging the waves on Marine Parade, donkey rides on South Bay: great childhood memories!

Yes the Naval battle was always fun to watch...

Very often took myself off to watch it as a kid...
Mind I was allowed pretty much unfettered access...
Wander down onto the fish pier to watch the catch being unloaded...
Along the south bay down to the swimming pool and spa....
Up into town for a penny on the Funicular railway.... Then back up castlegate... Past the castle and down to the Lido at the North bay then cable car ride back up to, Dinosaur land and the radio controlled boats etc..
Disappeared off for hours lol

That pretty much sums up my childhood holidays there. Ours always included a cricket match on the beach though. Big cricketing family.

Bill has found all sorts of bullet shells and he dug up part of a tank track on the beach near Skipsea not surprising as it was a firing range years ago as the cliffs are eroded there will be all sorts ending up on beaches along that part of the coast.
