Ì have just had a brand new. Battery delivered an hour ago and there is nothing coming out of it except my multimeter give 0.02 volts across the poles.
GRoc says the BMS has shut down for safety in transit or deep discharge has happened and the BMS has shut off.
I understand that flashing a higher voltage works with power tool batteries but I do not want to do this to a 3000AH battery.
Anybody got any suggestions, I cannot contact the sellers yet. HOwever I am very pleased I did not struggle to get it in the find out the voltage is dead.

I don't think you need (or would want) to use a "higher voltage" if by that you mean a lot higher than 12V. just using a regular 12V battery (such as the one you are removing presumably) and connecting that in parallel to the new battery for a few seconds should be sufficient and have no risk.

What battery is it could the load just be turned off in the bms?
IT just arrived and I have no information about the BMS there is no mention in the paperwork other a reference to 14.2 volts across the poles to chrge.
I am regally pxxxed of as I expect a new delivery to be ready to go or at least how to make it go. Somelipo batteries have an app and Bluetooth but no mention of anything in the book.

Where did you get it from, and did it come with instructions (or an online equivalent)? FWIW, I bought a LiFePO4 100Ah from Alpha Batteries and that has an On/Off & WakeUp switch and the instructions say it must be fully charged using a minimum 10A charger before first use. I wonder whether yours has similar. Mine is PolarMax branded.

Batteries now tend to have a QR Code Label on the battery top which when scanned will take you to more info and an App if applicable. Got anything like that on the battery?

Have you put a charger on it? The BMS on our bike batteries can be shut down for storage and to fire them up you plug in the charger. As wildebus said above probably only needs a few seconds to activate.

Does it have blue tooth or a switch on the side of the battery it's self? If so I suspect it's simply turned off at the switch or in the app. If it's shut down due to extreme low voltage then charging with an ordinary lead acid battery charger will do the trick.

IT is going back there is nothing to start it up. I watched somebody opening one of them and they found it wa a lash together using cells from used packs that had all the internal barcodes and numbers scratched off . They were buying up scrap batteries and using cells that still worked put into new plastic cases with cheap BMS and selling as new. I Thought it was too good to be true.

You only get what you pay for! Buy cheap buy twice!
For something that can be as dangerous as a battery especially dodgy lithium thingys and fire risk🤷‍♂️ I would be buying a reputable make. Pay your money take your chance!

Would you like to post the make and model of battery?

There are exceptions Kev but you've got to have a good knowledge to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Unfortunately I don't have such knowledge (but I know a man who has).
As a rule, it's not far off, there are bargains to be had in end of line stuff now and then.

Horses for courses again folks, there's no right or wrong it's just a matter of choice. I've had cheap brand LFPs in.my van for over 2 years and they've been fine. Big brands have big overheads Inc advertising and that all costs money, ultimately the buyer pays. GwayGway gets to return the battery so nothing lost apart from time and faffing around but I do understand that if the battery had gone west several months down the line it could have been a different story because once outside of the temu/ Amazon/ Ali express/ eBay return window you're often stuffed.
I posted a link to what I considered to be an excellent looking budget LFP battery a while ago here.

It's gone up in price (what hasn't 😡) so not the absolute steal it was a few months ago but personally it'd still be my choice for a budget lithium.

There are no exceptions Rob, as one of my old bosses used to tell me, we never want to buy cheap, we want inexpensive. He was right, ( thinking about it he was a Yorkshireman as well ) :)
