Moved on to this area (Mojacer Vera) from a cool and blustery Benidorm. Never seen so many wild campers in this part of Spain. The few I have chatted with have all said the same. They moved here from the Malaga area (and from Costa del Luz and the Algarve) becuase of the s**t weather.

If you are thinking of moving be prepared to squeeze in with the rest of the wildcampers and unless you have an aire or campsite booking forget it. Fortunately some local aires do permit wildcampers to use their service points for a nominal fee.

Currently enjoying a dry but windy 25 degrees with night time temperatures not dropping below 19 degrees.

Whilst there are prohibition signs, because of the numbers the police have clearly made the decision to not move motorhomes on. Must be good for local food stores and hospitality venues.

Glad to hear your weather is good. I wondered where all the long term OAP's from Europe had gone.
I used to find that small villages in land were better than on the coast, and usually pretty empty- and I mean that, empty of people both local and visitors.

Agreed but we have found much busier this year inland Murcia. Maybe worse weather elsewhere the cause.

i put in the snowbirds thread i’d never. seen so many vans Aquilas alone must have had 300 vans and every cove nearby another 20 or 30, if your looking. for a nice spot near here try Turre couple of spots on park for nights app best one alongside the fire station next to an exercise park away from the beach town itself a nice size big enough but poss too many ex pats 3 curry houses etc but we had a great 3 course meal for €18

it’s not just malaga area that people have bailed out off all down the algarve has been battered parque de rio in silves has been evacuated twice if you were set up there for your normal 6 months think you’d have moved on , on the plus side might get in there before the end of march lol

There's a Thread on another Forum that @barryd will have seen, principally led by an expat English couple, 'No wonder the Spanish are Fed Up' (? Re exact title). It bemoans the 'invasion' of foreign Motorhomes that overstay and/or park illegally (and isn't it worse this year?), but overlooks the fact that the continual stormy weather across Spain & Portugal has caused people to find a safe haven and stay there until the weather does improve, whilst new arrivals from other sodden areas then increase the crowding!

The street parking in Moncofa is never going to win a 'Beauty Spot of Valencia' Award, but, until last night's storm and 81kph gusts blew Vans back & forth for most of evening, nobody was making a move. Today has seen a thinning out, but there are still about 150 Vans, plus the 40 or so on the Aire, parked up.

Once the weather improves, the blockages should clear and there should be a more even distribution of M/homes across the Aires in areas that are, at the moment, waterlogged, snowboarding and/or windblown.

Bugger - me soapbox has just blown away ...😁
