Hi
We have a 2018 Globecar Campscout with diesel heating and use 2 x 6KG propane for fridge and cooking. The Calor bottles are fine for 3 to 4 weeks but we are looking to travel overseas for longer and so a tank seems to be a possible solution.

I have contacted Autogas 2000 who have suggested a 30L underslung tank and to use 1 x 6Kg propane as a reserve. Cost will be around £1100.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Just get a 6kg gaslow refillable cylinder with a filler kit and a POl fitting from Hamiltons, it's in NI but free postage the POL allows you to use a Calor if the Gadlow runs out, its what we use and I've not needed the Calor yet.

It's bad planning if you use a 6kg before passing a garage with LPG even in Scotland.

I would fit a bigger tank, if there is space.

I guess running a 12v compressor fridge mean I don't use a lot of gas at bit cooking and a bit heating
.I've never ever run out of it 13 years.

Not everyone does Scotland in 2 days like you. ;)

I've not got why peeps have a big tank tbh, you end up using more, if you have more, we've been away a week and used 18l, but had the fire and oven on every night but one, topped up 3 times, may need another to get home.

That was the old tank the new one has been on since 2022 Christ I thought it was only last year lololol
The old one has been on since 2013 I think .
Before I fitted the new one I gave it two coats of grey primer three coats of stone chip and a coat of red paint + it has a huge alloy shield to protect it for stone chips.
