Glencoe Mountain Resort.

Yes they do that at other places Barry unfortunately, but I thought that an envelope with the registration as proof of payment might encourage it. Perhaps maybe that the signage would indicate that if the payment has to be collected by a warden then the price doubles.

Of course none of this would work in reality, it's human nature to save a few quid and sod the consequences. I'm just chucking stuff in the mix! :(

I would think the first thing to do is put up some clear signage about payment and remove any indication about "donations" or "honesty" boxes. Make it a bit more official and the idea of a CCTV camera is a good one. Cheap to put up. They don't even have to be real.

I've stayed there many times and always paid, it's a privilege to stay there and watch the Mountain Hares and Ptarmigan.

I really don't get how people can be so selfish and downright tight!
Humanity, Rob. Scum of the earth, who probably buy the top of the range stuff because they don't pay for the day to day items. But there again, the 8 (?) campers sharing the key *were* sharing both an AAA battery powered brain rejected by a passing amoeba, and the sense of decency of a vulture ...

It was, which was a shame as I was looking forward to their mixed grill. We went on to the Black Horse, hopefully that one doesn't get spoiled.

I stayed overnight in a pub in North Yorkshire which offered free accommodation provided you had a meal or a few drinks, they even had an outside toilet with shower to use for free.

Whilst we were there a large motorhome pulled up with a family of four in it, the father came into the bar, ordered a soft drink, drank it in about 20 seconds and went back to the motorhome not to be seen again until they left in the morning. The landlady said to me that this is what a lot do and it's just a token effort to stay as cheaply as possible.

Personally, I had a fekkin skinful and a cracking night watching a folk band in there - I even ended up sitting with the band and the landlady after they were finished and ended up playing 'Twinkle twinkle little star' on the Violin much to their amazement, so I suppose I was on the fiddle as well really!

Do you know The Wheels on the Bus too, Rob?

I totally understand why the business do not want to get involved with administration with camping cars stopping over and using facilities. Perhaps the business can take a look at the Lochore Meadows model. Yes a cost involved setting up, self policing, to a degree, but surely over time, with this appearing to be a popular stopover, setup costs will be recouped over time.

I'm glad to say that the 'Wheels' song didn't exist when I was 6 and started Violin lessons Ral. I didn't stick with it for very long and the only tunes I learned how to play were 'Twinkle, twinkle' and 'Little Brown jug'.

However, thanks for reminding me about the 'Wheels on the bus' song, I thought I'd finally got that particular ear-worm out of my head!!

We use pub stops quite often, and we wouldn't dream of having less than a full meal with wine - we usually call first to make sure their policy hasn't changed, go in when we arrive to introduce ourselves and possibly have a drink, and book a table for the evening. Next morning if they are open we might have breakfast but at the very least I will go back and thank them. I usually write a nice review as well.

I think that's the least I can do, I go fully expecting to pay for a meal and everything else is just courtesy, which costs nothing.

I really really don't understand 'some' people's seemingly determined efforts to stuff things, up for others....

It's like a game to some people to see what they can get away with...
I'm done with the making excuses "Ohh we didn't know that etc"

Yes you did and proceeded to act like a bell end anyway.

Its just the nature of some selfish people. I've heard stories from campsite wardens that would make you sick at what some people do in toilets and the conditions they leave them in. How many times have you used a motorway services station loo or any public loo and found it in a disgusting state? "I've used it, I'll do what I like and I don't care about the next person" kind of attitude. The same people are probably the ones using sites or CLs and going out all day leaving electric heaters going in Awnings all day long and then ranting about it on social media when the site prices go through the roof, electric gets metered or charged extra at £10-£15 per day.

I'm not sure there is a cure for this kind of selfish behaviour apart from rounding them all up and putting them on an island somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic. Preferably with no toilets or electricity.

Send them to America.....

Major part of my journeys. Some pubs do charge for parking which I just don't agree with . Some pubs charge and have a refund system which makes a lot of sense .

Simple thing if not a drinker would be to go into the pub and get a ticket for windscreen at say £10 a night which would include water and cassett emptying, no electric or other things if no meal drink bought.
Pub stops do not normally have access to water or emptying cassettes and if I was a landlord I wouldn't risk a blocked bog or someone carrying a cassette through the bar as some would, for a tenner.

Makes my blood boil. I hate selfish and inconsiderate behaviour, anywhere, at any time, by any persons.
Unfortunately I cannot see any easy answers, apart from euthanasia or *sterilisation for the offenders so they can't reproduce any more of their ilk.
*Without anaesthetic of course.
So that'll be a prick for the prick, then?
