what about one of theses as a battery replacement or addition to run mains equipment?

For anyone who doesn't understand electricity in their MoHo; or gets confused by wh & ah; or thinks AC/DC is a pop group...

This post https://wildcamping.co.uk/threads/electricity-in-your-motor-home-for-dummies.74748/ contains an excellent entry level document for beginners.

It does contain a few simplifications that our experts object to but it is well worth a read.

I recommend it 100%.

(By the way. I wrote it :))

When ever possible get equipment for the MH that is 12volt. Just running the inverter is a waste of current. When not in use, turn it off. (y)

Or buy a victron Phoenix inverter which is so efficient on eco mode it uses virtually nothing whilst being left on. There are some appliances which don’t work on eco, then I just switch to normal whilst it’s in use then through Bluetooth switch it back to eco mode when finished. I have the 1200 version which handles a KW, but larger versions are available.

ECO Mode:

Reduces power consumption by switching to standby when the load decreases below a pre-set value.
Reactivates when the load exceeds the pre-set level, maintaining efficiency.

BLUETTI EB3A Portable Power Station | 600W 268Wh - BLUETTI UKbluettipower.co.uk not too bad a price £189 and versatile. 268Wh more than twice my Lead/acid battery capacity and portable. Unplug it and take it indoors for the winter eh? Then use it as if it was an EHU? Maybe I am missing something, if so, disabuse me, please.
Regarding the power station you mentioned, way too small. As most have mentioned go down the lithium route with an inverter. The lithium battery I bought was the same weight as my lead acid but gives me virtually 5 x the available amps and more or less makes me self sufficient power wise saving me £6.00/£7.00 a day on ehu charges.

My caravan had a 110 amp lead acid battery and I carried an EcoFlow Delta 2 max & extra battery that I had been given by a friend charged by 400 amps of solar. I carry the Ecoflows in the car boot. The EcoFlow was connected to the caravan ehu so it acted like a mains feed allowing me to use the microwave, air fryer etc and obviously charged the battery.

This setup was great when the sun shined but in autumn / winter I had to connect to the site ehu every 2/3 days to recharge the Ecoflows. I’m a heavy power user in the winter as don’t venture out much and tend to watch loads of sport on tv.

I recently fitted a Fogstar drift 280 amp lithium battery and a dedicated charger. I’m presently in my 10th day in the lakes and to date have only been on ehu 1 day to recharge the battery. Haven’t had to use the EcoFlow apart from when using the microwave and air fryer as don’t have an inverter.

Best money I’ve ever spent and will be transferring the Fogstar into my next motorhome / pvc next year.
