How many people use and review the POI's?

I've said it before, and no doubt I'll say it again ....

When someone has no personal incentive for doing optional updating of a data repository, then the majority of people will not update the data.
Relying on altruism for colleagues doesn't work.

I introduced a rule in a company that expenses claims involving a customer visit would not be paid unless a printed visit report from the customer database was attached. Updating of customer data increased dramatically.

Fortunately that's not the case or we would have no charity workers, and who would man the RNLI lifeboats.
You have taken my quote of of context.

The quote specifically referred to the voluntary input of data into a database when the submitter doesn't benefit from doing so.
e.g. updating of POI information.

I fully accept that charity workers do unpaid work that benefits others.
BTW For over 30 years my wife has been a trustee (unpaid) for a multi million £ turnover charity that supports people on the Autism spectrum, and since retirement she has become vice chair of the board working 20-30 hours every week.

I don't always use the web page app because it is a bit slow and clunky. I install the poi files into my satnav and navigate them and/or look them on Street View.
When I do use the app, in the past I've found that the report/review feature never worked, but I tried it a few weeks ago and was surprised to find that it worked. I shall try it again in future.

I do not use the app unless an offline version is available. I just use the satnav and yes sometimes, even though I update my sat nav some sites posted are not suitable.
