Very simple job
Measures litres used
So when I fill the tank I reset and it then it counts down the litres.
I now know a full freshwater tank gives me 88 litres!
An alternative is the Mopeka Sensor if you can access the bottom of the water tank, which you can then monitor via a Smartphone App, a Fixed Display (extra cost option) or if you have a VictronCerbo GX type installation, see it on the consolidated display.
The Mopeka would be more expensive (especially if you wanted the display) but when I got mine, I got a double pack with display on a deal on Amazon.com, sold the display on, so it worked well to monitor the Water and the LPG.
We have a 120 litre freshwater tank, and, when I look at the tank, if the level is on or just over the 'lip' where the narrow section starts, we have around 30-40 litres ... As long as I close the 'drain tank to 20 litres level' valve and close the frost stat button [forgot to for last week's trip to New Lanark ...], we have enough water for an overnight at least. Gratis, and the 35 steps for the inspection go towards my 6,000 step count ...
I see that CBE do a tank level display which would be a better fit in my galley, but it only shows as thirds of a tank so not as precise as Martin's solution.
Waste water tank level kit from CBE for tanks up to 400mm depth in caravans, motorhomes & campervans. Compatible with CBE modular switch & socket system.

The other thing with those is you need a tank that has a top filler Would be little use in the typical Autotrail Motorhome where the large filler is on the bottom and no access to the top of the tank at all.
