A few years ago we took our grandson to the C&MC Seacroft site in Cromer, Norfolk.
Tonight I thought I would check out the members midweek rate.
Well blow me away for two adults, grass no EHU it’s…………..£63.50 an night.
Yes you get a tiny swimming pool, a restaurant and a bar.
They're extracting urine, I don’t know what the non member price is but it must be £75-80.
What brought this on was my wife was on YouTube where she saw a video showing a site in Newquay who were charging ………..£92 a night. Thats £644 a week.

Well all I can say is, if your daft enough to pay prices like that, then hell scud it into you.
You’re only encouraging the robbing bar stewards.:mad:

On Saturday we are off to the CCC site in Dunbar grass only £21 a night. That fits the bill. Sunday night it’s fish and chips in Adrianos, one being enough for both of us and it’s delicious at £11 for a breaded fish supper.

indeed at some of those prices. I am driving the car down south and will get double the economy on a 1,000 mile round trip. Significant cost of fuel saving

Bear in mind that also in most B&B's or cheap hotel rooms electricity is free as is toilet roll, soaps and shampoos, coffee, heating etc. etc. Me and my mate stayed in a twin room a couple of weeks ago with en-suite and everything I just mentioned included AND an all you can eat breakfast which was very nice and all for £80.

Hmmm - tempting.

Nahh! I'll stick to CL's, CS's and pub stops. :)

Why do they charge so much? Because they can! Obviously some daft sods are paying it because there's low availability. Each to their own but it's not for us anymore, we left then a couple of years back.

The C&MC claim to be run for their members, they claim to be a non profit organisation.
So with prices like this (and don’t forget the price I quoted was for a member) does this mean that all of the independent sites who charge less, and don’t have membership fees, are running at a loss. ;)

I prefer the CCC who are generally better value. Also they have offers on grass only pitches with 40% discounts. The vast majority of their sites have grass only pitches, whereas the C&MC have very few grass only pitches. And when they do they are so expensive your as well taking EHU. On their New England Bay site I would have saved £1.60 on a grass only pitch.

To be fair last year I got two free nights from them which covered their annual fee. Here’s hoping they do this again this winter.

IF I like the site than the price is secondary to being somewhere I want to be....

Same with a wild camping spot.....

IF I like the spot..... Then the spot is the prime thing....

NOT that it's free.

A very good point, it's always a matter of choice - nobody is forcing anyone to go there I suppose.
