Not an overnight spot, but daytime parking lost for the foreseeable future due to an idiot.

It is the irresponsible few that spoil things for the responsible majority.

A public toilet in a nearby village to us is now closed because the people maintaining it got fed up paying for a plumber to unblock it regularly after irresponsible people blocked it with their toilet waste, ignoring the signs saying not to.

What’s really worrying here is that the car park warden believes that it’s one micro camper, that’s done it a few times. So I can understand the ban, he has to empty the bins, and the camper has put black bin bags in filled with toilet waste. But we’ve now got huge numbers of car owners learning everyday about what “we” do.

Typical....

Used to be one of our fave spots when we were stopping at Bobby Bs in Burton Fleming...

Park there wander down to the excellent beach Cafe then wander the dogs along the beach.

Hang about. What about all the car owners using bushes? If vans without toilets do it then so do car users
I suspect they use either the portaloos in the carpark OR the new public facilities

And I doubt they carry a full toilet cassette with them to empty in the bottom of the hedgerow...

And YES I saw the evidence AND the very upset carpark owner.

beautiful place to park for the day.....cliff top..overlooking filey bay
.great cafe as you meander down to the beach
such a shame

Not really. Car users tend to use public toilets in shops, cafes and car parks. Or nip into the bushes occasionally. They don’t save large quantities then fill a black bin liner and put it into a waste bin.

If folk used bio tabs nothing comes out the casette only brown water, so thats strange why toilets get blocked unless they dont give powder time to break down cr-p.

I've never found anything that breaks up all the paper. Tablets, the blue stuff, the green stuff, fairy liquid. Tried them all.

The best solution I've found if you need it to last a while is to blue the loo and make like the Greeks and bag the loo paper for proper disposable later. The it literally is just liquid when you empty and pretty safe in a normal loo although I don't like emptying in them as a rule.

Whoever did this is a disgusting individual but nothing surprises me now

Where possible (i.e. unless desparate) we only use the HM loo for No 1's It is almost always possible to find a public loo once a day for a No 2.

So when emptying my cassette there are no solids other than a bit of loo paper. I have never blocked my loo at home emptying it after a trip.

Sadly, there are known instances of it happening, and toilets stopped being available because of it.

Public toilets are not designed for the volume of a full cassette. Sadly it only takes one and we all suffer.

Not everybody does the right thing. Hence the blockages, the waste and the bans.

I’ve just heard about a Motorhomer in Lossiemouth who has emptied their cassette into a drain in the road. Apparently the council are now considering stopping the free stopovers. I don’t know how true it is, but nothing surprises me.

That is indeed disgusting. As are emptied cassettes. But years ago I went to lots of popular spots where, if you went off the path, there were lots of dumps complete with toilet paper from car users...

Yes, we’ve all seen that occasionally. The trouble when motorhomers do it is the sheer volume and it’s usually visible. Whereas the car passenger doing it is almost always entirely out of site and in very small quantities.

That’s the difference, and why only one or two examples of this are enough to turn so many against us. There really is no comparison.

If you get up to Scotland spend a few hours at one of the places Rabbies (and other) tour busses pull in. You may be surprised at the number of folk desperate for the toilet.

I wouldn't be surprised; we’ve all seen it. I just don’t think there’s a comparison and I fear the majority of the public would agree. Rightly or wrongly, that’s how they’ll see it, and at Hunmanby there’ll be 50 cars a day getting a really poor impression of us.
