I can't make my mind up.

I like the wind deflectors on the cab windows, allows you to leave the windows an inch or so open for ventilation without making it easy for someone to get in. Twin side doors are a bonus. Single bloke can exist without a toilet or washroom. Using a portable gas stove can be an advantage.,..do your frying outside.
Like the big bed. Not sure about the low roof.
I'd want a leisure battery under the bed with a proper bto b charger and a camping fridge.
That size of van just about fits a standard supermarket parking space and can be ones sole transport without to much hassle.
So let me get this right, single blokes dont sh or p-ss, news to me, or do they keep a open bucket of steeming *)(^* sitting all night humming like a newclear power station, these are the type of day vans that give us a bad name.

I ran panel vans for years, and occasionally used them as tin tents,

All you really need is a inflatable mattress, and twin burner camping stove, porta potti and a camping fridge is a bonus. Folding chair is handy.
Most vans have a metall bulkhead behind the seats, it should just unbolt then you've got both light and ventilation via the cab windows.

Next lluxury on list would be a lleasure battery to run the fridge and a tablet. ( Access to internet via your mobile phone). The battery can be charged cheaply via a voltage sensing relay whilst you're driving, or add a portable solar panel.....think how tent campers do things rather than expensive mobile home sollutions
Lucky you can hold the no 1 and no 2 to you get home. 😨

Easily solved Trev. No bucket required. :D

A cassette toilet in a box will work in a day van just as well as in a motorhome Trev.

I will start a riot here if i keep trying, yep if all onboard then handy to get under hight barriers, we have some up our coast road which i cannot get into, but only a few, Glenarm is fantastic and was full as i passed this week.
What i dont understand is if not on the book as motorcaravan how do you get insurance, if its com then here you have to show biz books as prof and ins starts at around £700, where as a camper is about £200.

No cooker no loo/washroom, and you cannot stand up, walk on.
It's got most of what i want, while i've been searching for a van i also bought bit by bit a 3 way cooler,2 burner stove, folding storage units the means to keep clean, power bank, solar panel, awning, loads of other stuff and a cuddly toy.I can put my own stamp on it,all part of the fun int it.

Exactly. I love that simplistic way of camping in a van, sadly my mrs doesn't.

Totally agree with your way of thinking now. Providing the mechanics, engine and bodywork are alright on that van you don't have much else to worry about and can build it up to how you want it. On the budget you have I think its the best way rather than going for an ancient coach built motorhome thats possibly riddled with damp and just one step away from the knackers yard.

You can get insurance on a panel van, social domestic and pleasure.
