I found it a tough year weather wise:
March: 10 days in Madeira with rain and thunderstorms.
May: 3 weeks in Alsace, France with rain on many days.
June: 4 week trip lakes and N Yorkshire with rain most days.
August: 4 week trip to Hereford/ Worcestershire area, rain on most days!!!!

And if you want to escape like those who go to Morocco for the winter I have just been reading about the severe flooding in the north that has killed up to 30!!
Yikes!!!

Yep its been a bit of a naff summer. Best we had was 10 days in the Lake District (The very last trip in our old van) earlier in the summer / late spring and it was fabulous. One of the best trips (albeit very short) we have ever had. Been away in the new van down the south west since early July and whilst we have had some good days we have had no heatwaves or long periods of glorious weather. Very mixed. From what I can gather most of Europe has been the same.

Opposite in Crete. Too mild a winter so insufficient snow to fill the aquifers. Summer water shortages. And no rain May to October. Heat arrived early and plants suffered.
Know where I’d rather be though! 🌞

Could you post dates of any future trips, and we will avoid them ;)

We did a couple of steam fairs early in the year and although we didn't get wet (well slightly) we needed the heating on in the van and coats on some of the time during the day. June hols in France, cooler than usual and a little rain, but we still enjoyed ourselves, due to me always thinking ahead and taking more than we (usually) need!

September was also cool and we were thankful that we had the old, unreliable heating changed. It was nothing like normal years where we reach the Med and after a few days look for cooler weather. We have just come back from Cumbria (Coniston) after a short break, the weather was fairly good but cold, but then it is October in the north of England. We have not had it too bad I suppose, but it was a totally different time to previous years.
