Wow a tyre blowout!

Scary though it wasn't picked up at a service or MOT.
Shows you though, these things can happen at anytime.

From what I remember Mark it was a Tie Rod and it had actually sheared rather than detached.

I had to stay in a hotel in Gloucester for a couple of nights whilst it was repaired and the mechanic said to me that it seemed to be a freak accident as it was a genuine Merc part and not very old either.

It went with one hell of a bang so I suppose it's possible that I hit a pot hole but the truth is I just don't know. Neither myself or my passenger saw a pot hole but he was more interested in a change of underwear at the time.

Tie rod went like that on my mate's Audi Q5 lucky at low speed cornering, he had just picked up his car from an airport parking service in Málaga, wether their driver had been 'having fun' in it 🤔

Seems i was right sticking to old sodas as nothing ever broke on them, cant say same for front struts on my proton savvy, in 5 weeks and worn and knocking already, MOT shortly and no mission of getting another set from malasia in time.

I have just fitted new wiring looms to both front doors on my Skoda Roomster (broken wires). Seems to be a weakness on Skodas. Parts are still available but they had to come from Czech Republic.

No one keeps parts any more after a few years, they are ment to keep them for 10 years but dont, most dealers only keep fast moving and accedent parts, any odd ball parts must come from maker.

At least sticking to driving old SODAS you won't be done for DD.

The new looms were original Skoda parts Trev. One was dated 2008 and I did not check the other one before I fitted it. If you need anything, I got them from Skoda-Parts.com.
