I f that is the case then it looks like the village will lose alot of money. At that price you may as well get on the motorway at Boulogne, pay 12 euros toll and stop for the night at Baie de Somme service aire. We have been stopping there for many years and never had a problem. Showers, toilet WIFI, water and drop for free. Saves time and diesel.
If you are on the way back you may as well catch a ferry at 6pm and go straight to Canterbury.
Thank you very much for the update, wont be going again now.

We used the aire a lot but were never impressed with the town itself. And when they stopped allowing dogs on the prom, it lost even more appeal.

I get that the Camping Car Park model works well, but to me, being able to book in advance destroys the spontaneity of using aires. But if you don't book in advance, you risk not getting on. That's fine in places where there are alternatives nearby, but that's not always practical.

This is not a Camping Car Park aire. Reservations are not possible.

The services and hook-up bollards have to be paid for using a browser-based app. This connects via Bluetooth.

Unfortunately, having spent some time setting up an account and then connecting I discovered that UK credit cards are not accepted for payment. So if you stop here don't rely on filling with water. Black and grey waste disposal of course are free.

So are the water and hookup to pay for on top of the €11 entrance fee and how did you pay that if it doesn't accept UK cards? Its always a right PIA when you start having to faff on with barriers and cards. Its a good few years since I have been but I seem to remember there are other options. I don't mind paying but if they don't take UK cards Ill probably avoid it.

I gave up...

It's card only though the barrier control did accept my UK card. Foolishly I thought water would be included.

I must admit that the water services at Baie de Somme are a bit hit and miss whether working or not, however just where you turn up for the motor home parking on the right hand side there is a building with an outside tap. When we leave England we always make sure we have enough water for 3/4 nights.
However, as we have to bypass Rouen now due to the emissions zone we go through Yvetot. On the way ( al little bit off the beaten track) is a really nice quiet aire with free everything, just a donation in the toilet block. It is called St Pierre Benouville.

We have always managed to get on without a problem. Just make sure you leave a donation or it may disappear.

It would appear that it is necessary to obtain a code for entry by calling one of three mobile numbers detailed in the additional information at https://www.campingcar-infos.com/view.php?id=33523
