Wiring a solar panel system

Hello all
I will be fitting a solar power system to my 2005 Burstner I685, using a Votronic MPP165 dual output regulator.
I would appreciate views on wiring the regulator output directly to the Reich E Box, or whether it is better to wire the regulator output direct to the leisure and engine starter batteries
Many Thanks

I am going to fit the same regulator in my van. I have a Schaudt system in my van and will be going directly to my batteries. I will be adding an LCD votronic solar display also

What did you do eventually, can you connect the Votronic directly to your Reich E box. I want to do much the same and connect directly to a Schaudt Electrobloc.

You can connect that Votronic direct the the EBL, you will need to purchase or make up the lead to plug it in. Batt I goes to the EBL, Batt II cable to output of EBL so you get a constant 1 amp feed to starter battery.

I still have a lead if you get stuck, I also have the lead (I think) that will connect to the EBL for the display if you have the DT200 type (I had the DT101 which doesn't have solar display). Its is real easy to fit

Thank you very much Neil for that info, I am going to buy the MPP 250 so would the cable you have be suitable? If so I would happily purchase it from you if you have no further use for it.
Cheers

When I transferred my Schaudt 1218 solar controller from my Burstner with EBL to my replacement Burstner with a Reich ebox, I contacted Allan Evans at A&N Caravan services and he sent me 2 replacement cables with the correct fittings for the ebox. They may be still available or you could make them up yourself (the ebox end are push in fittings).

You need to be aware that if you add a second Leisure battery there is a good chance that you will damage the reich ebox. A replacement is expensive, an uprated one capable of handling 2 Leisure batteries is even more expensive.

Jim, I made the query on an old post, I want to use a Votronic unit with a Schaudt Electrobloc.

Yes it would, it is the dual digital mpp 250 that I have. I couldn’t put both panels through the EBL so changed to go direct to battery. I definitely have the cable to connect the mpp to the EBL but need to check if I have the one for the control panel or not. I ‘think’ they were both extra’s and as I have the DT101 I wouldn’t have gone for that one.

Are you going to any meets this year?

I got advice from Martin at A&N before I did anything, excellent guys and info from them.

I would bypass the Reich and go direct to lb and starter if it’s an option, it’s what i did myself in the end and no risk of damaging anything 👍

Will be at the Hereford meet , I wouldn’t need the control panel cable as my panel is the one with only the voltmeter.
Cheers
