Will there ever be a fully electric campervan?

Pondering how we will be able to carry on doing what we love to do without diesel and with CC clearly asking us to question what matters. My van is teeny tiny but it still runs on diesel and I don't see a bunch of ev vans coming along with the infrastructure needed for doing long distances. Anyone seen any hopeful signs out there?
My new film is up on youtube for those who have to time to take a nose.

Just to warn you Dan this topic was discussed in depth and to death very recently on here so the up take on the thread might be limited. The general consensus which will come as little surprise was electric vans suitable for touring are a long way off but will happen eventually, but as is the nature of the humour on the forum many pointed out that they will dead by the time it does!

Engine makers Toyota and other say they cannot make a clean engine after 2017 which is not to far away, as for batts, well when we get the new carbon ones things will change big time, 5 times faster charge and range never mind being lighter and will not burn.
Thing is most of use will be past driving by the time the old diesel engines are long gone from production, but there will be many running around for years if the gov dont tax hard and put derv up to double which will kill them.

Oh Thanks I obviously didn't search very hard. I'm hoping I will see the change but I doubt it.

Yes.
let’s keep it simple.

I think commercial vehicles will move to hydrogen eventually. The Japanese are year’s ahead of us all there buses and trucks will be running on hydrogen fuel cells In the next couple of years. Electric stuff is coming on pretty fast too but I really think Bosch and the like have too much to lose so we might see a compromise some sort of carbon capture system. Porsche already make a zero carbon synthetic fuel to run there new race cars that will run in its older cars too. There’s a lot happening and fast. https://www.dw.com/en/porsche-to-produce-fuel-as-clean-as-electric-vehicles/a-56787413

i saw something the other day that hinted that the target dates for banning IC engines didnt apply to hybrid vehicles.. which would lead to the question how small a motor and battery is needed to qualify as hybrid

Interesting, is that their loophole, 50 miles from the battery and the following 300 from the tank

..........but it's not an IC car your honour, it's a hybrid

Fact is the gov will out tax anything with a fuel engine, like it or lump it, same as e10 fuel will be out in September and the old e5 will go up in price, many of older cars will not run on e10 including my 2013 proton.

The oil producing nations must be crapping themselves and rushing about trying to invest in electric tech.

Life without music would Bflat .

For smaller vans the Vivaro with a 200mile range is about as good as it gets now, For larger vans there is Arrival van which IIRC is currently 180miles but soon to be just over 200miles.
These are fairly marginal (at best) for touring, but you must remember the manufacturers are looking to sell commercial vehicles the leisure market is just a sideline.
As for hydrogen, I was thinking this might be an alternative, but it's now being seen as the oil companies last gasp at keeping a market, it takes three times the total energy to move a hydrogen vehicle 1 mile compared to the same BEV, Germany has had subsidies to try and promote hydrogen but AFAIK BEV's are now seen in Germany as the way forward.
It's looking as if we need to keep fingers crossed for something in future to keep long range touring.

All the EV advertising stating the miles per charge is all done theoretically and with "ideal conditions" with just the driver, no passengers, no luggage. What happens to the cheaper EV's "miles per charge" if they have three passengers, suitcases, driving down the motorway at 70MPH into a 40 MPH headwind ? Maybe 50-60 miles maximum ?
I can't see this 2030 deadline to be possible , they will have to get millions of charging stations installed in motorway services , garages all over the country will need more chargers than the same number of petrol/ diesel pumps. How will people in terraced streets, flats and tower blocks get home chargers ?
Chargers in "conservation areas" will not be aesthetically very popular .
Will forcing people into EVs, by putting a firm date as close as 2030, really work ? Maybe it should be but back to 2040 and let a natural changeover occur.

In a similar thread last year I pointed out that I met a german couple in a small electric vw camper van partially self converted on the Col d' Isere. They said they had no problem getting there.

You all forget the new type batteries which will hit the market within im sure 5 years.
