wild night

Just spent a wild night at Lligwy beach. Roaring winds and rain buffeting the van all night. Lovely and warm inside. Panoramic views of the bay and sea in the morning. Lovely coastal walks. We are complete newbies, this was our first night away. Brilliant. Any one got any more ideas for wild camping spots in the winter?

Dartmoor especially xmas week you never see anyone else exceptthe ranger.

Dartmoor sounds good, very atmospheric I can imagine. There were 5 other vans at Lligwy beach and I must say that we liked having other vans around.

Penmon point is a great place with superb views, usually other vans there too, just a £2.50 toll to pay

Penmon point looks great, will stay there next time we are in Anglesey.

fantastic isent it wilding on an exposed coast line ,with the wind and rain that's something we really miss after our two years living in our van .ok i know its great in the summer ,but theirs just something about winter wilding that's magic

Lllgwy not exactly wild camping but a fabulous spot, we go on bank hollidays. Always busy but come tea time the place emptys. Well worth a tenner.

Poor weather wilding is just brill, the only things I ever avoid are being next to trees in high winds.

Ours is 6m and it was fine and 2 of the vans were longer than ours, so it should do. Someone on this site should know better than me.

I do not think they bother much in Winter, but I have not been there for years now because it got too packed with vans with generators running etc but that was spring summer. Some peeps mention Penmon, will the road take a 7m van?

We regularly go to penmon point in our 7m Motorhome with out any problems. They charge £2.50 for the toll road, that is each way so on the day you leave you have to pay to drive out.

Penmon is one of our favourite spots and you soon get use to the light house bell ringing, to the point you don't even notice it.
