Being new to using a motorhome everything has been great so far apart from wifi availability. I have two mobile phones from O2(giffgaff) and Vodafone but have also just purchased an EE sim for my mifi device so I'm covered on mobile internet. My issue is with my tablet, it doesn't pick up the signal as well as my laptop inside the hymer. If I can replicate the signal outside then all would be well so no need to boost the signal just to make it as strong inside as outside. I've seen the iboost system which seems to do exactly what I want but is a bit pricey so would like to hear from others if they have a different way around this issue rather than try a few cheaper options then end up buying the iboost kit.
To give an example, tonight I downloaded a few movies easily and quickly on my laptop but every few minutes or less my tablet drops the connection when I try to play a game and unfortunately I'm addicted to Clash of Clans. Basically I think I need something with an external antenna that feeds a router of some kind that provides a signal inside the hymer that can connect to any available wifi network without access to settings.
I have searched this and many other forums but seem to get more confused.
Any tips or advice gratefully received.

Cheers.

Barry.

Cannot advise on anything other than the iboost which using FON whether in the UK or Europe gives me all the internet I need, I do use a 3 sim as backup but rarely need it

The iBoost is a good bit of kit and tech support is available when required.
There was a thread many months ago on which someone said that they were going to put together their own low-cost equivalent, so you could try an Advanced Search for that - you just need to come up with a few suitable keywords.

I will hunt for the diy version but so far it looks like iboost is the main option. I thought that because I saw a reference to iboost a few years ago there might of been more options now. I'd rather spend the money on something that works than spend £50 here and £20 there then end up buying iboost anyway.

Barry.
