Don't know what gearbox you have, but our 6 speed 2.2 multijet is very nippy.
It is also fitted with a lower gear ratio box due to the gearbox change done last year by customer services, it now gives me 30-36mpg depending how it's driven, and the outside temperature. Cruise all day on the Motorway at 70m/hr.

our fiat has the 2.8 i.d.t.d. engine & 5 speed box. returns around 32 mpg, that is even around scotland with a lot of low gear work.

Hi, As mentioned in another thread we did 116.500 in the old Murvi on the 2.8 turbo diesel Fiat wjth very few problems & an average of 34 mpg including the eberspacher heating system.The new Murvi on the 2.3 has just had the rear gear upgrade. See thread " kineck" We are already getting + 30 mpg & rising as the engine beds in. I have no complaints about Fiat at all.
