Which way flow ?

I’m ready to fit the Fiamma expansion tank feeding from the Shurflo water pump to tap - but I’m not sure if the flow FROM the pump (which will be to the left of the tank) is in the direction marked red or marked white arrow - or doesn’t it matter? 🥺

No it doesn't matter all the expansion tank does is flatten out the pulses of water from the pump, it acts like an expansion tank of a combi boiler.
I.e. it has a diaphragm inside the tank which separates the water from the pressurised side of the tank, thats what the Schrader valve on top of the tank is for, if the pressure goes low in the tank you can top it back up with a bicycle pump or car tyre pump, I think it should be 9lb but don't quote me as I maybe wrong might be 13lbs psi.

Frankly I gave mine to someone on another site as it made no difference to my shurflo
System and it was just taking up space under the sink.Phil

Thanks Phil that’s settled my mind.
(ps/ it states precharged pressure of 13psi / 0.9bar, max pressure 116psi / 8bar) not sure that I’d like so high a pressure!

I agree with Phil, flow direction is not important. I used them on narrowboats with long pipe runs and they did stop the pump from short cycling (and waking us up!)
 
An expansion vessel can be quite handy at night as it will also allow you to draw some water with the pump switched off completely. On mine I don't even have an In and Out, just a single connection :)
8 Bar would be rather high!
 
Yes it would be high. With no expansion tank I can draw about 500ml of water before the pump kicks in, it really depends on how much pipe work and size of hot water tank you have as to how much pressure capasity is stored in your system Phil

It is a guide for which ever system it is used in, 13psi is the standard and what it would be charged to as bought, but if you use it in a specialised system they are just stating that its maximum working pressure is 116psi, it will probably take about 10 to 20 % more pressure before the diaphragm would blow as there is always a fail safe to a maximum. Phil
