Hi though my husband is dutch he has no idea where we can camp
We want to start in Zeeland then travel up north to Groningen hope to stop in a mix of aires and sites.
Plus we disposed of all maps we had as they were years of date.
So advice to buy the best informative maps and guides would be welcome.
We hope to go June for two to 3 weeks.

We are ok re bank cards. He has a dutch bank account.

We are not interested in Amsterdam. Been a few times when living there.

Any help and info would be greatly appreciated..

We have a 98 A/s clubman.

Strictly speaking wildcamping is illegal in Netherlands, or though I have seen some posting that they have done it. I don't ever recall seeing an Aire in the Netherlands, plenty of campsites, we have an old CCCI book, the German guide to european sites and 'aires' can't recall the name, and there's google maps which gives most campsites with the benefit of reviews.

We were in the Netherlands last year and drove up to Friesland. We used the Search for Sites app to find places to stay. Our first 3 nights we wild-camped but the locals told us that we were lucky not to get a visit from the cops. We did stay on one free aire (parking only), which was within 5 minutes drive from Keukenhof and newly opened. Mostly we stayed at marinas as they are less camp-site like. Unfortunately I can't access details of places we stayed at the moment as our MH log is in the van in Yorkshire and we are at home.

We always enjoy staying at Gouda, on the Klein America Aire, which is a fairly large motorhome stopover, on a car park, with facilities, and an easy walk into Gouda. Not been there for several years, though, so worth checking re the current situation.

Don't like campsites , only use them occasionally.
Doesn't make the Netherlands very attractive, I assume , to many of us
