Wheel clamps?

My Nissan Elgrand camper conversion has 17x215 wheel/tyres but I don't eem to be able to find a clamp that will fit these, all seem to be only up to 16 inch. Anyone got a link to a suitable supplier please?

I recently bought one of these, no nought many will say " easily removed " etc etc. But anything that delays / slows down the scumbags Is worth fitting imho. There are different sizes to fit wheels up to 400mm wide. The only downside is the weight, 6 kg plus. I also fit a Disklok on the steering wheel.

i know its not a wheel clamp but i have just ordered one of these and i am waiting for it to be delivered to give it a go.

The little trucks like mine, Suzuki, Daihatsu and the older Bedford’s, Toyotas and Hondas are very collectable (by the wrong people :sad:) and don’t have the up-to-date ignition immobiliser that the modern ones have, so anything helps !

May also be usefull on their big cousins !

Many thanks for this, I bought one and it seems to do the job, use it on the brake pedal as my bus is auto and the brake pedal needs to be depressed to engage drive. Only problem is I park close to a hedge on the drivers at home (so the sliding door is accessible) and it's virtually impossible to fix it going in from the passenger side, 20 years ago I could have done it but I'd do myself an injury now. Good for out and about though which is what I wanted it for.
 
years ago i had a mini and i used to wrap a chain around all three pedles and put on a big chunky padlock on.
 
Unless the wheel clamp covers the wheel completely and securely use a locking wheel nut on the wheel,otherwise 'Pikey Pete' will have the wheel off and another back on.They do survey these vehicles and come equipped in the early hours.
 
As an update,

I bought one of those curly motorcycle disc lock reminders from ebay at @ £1.33 inc delivery from China and attached it to the brake / throttle peddle lock.

I then made a small hook out of a metal coat hanger and fitted it to the other end of the coil. This clips onto the steering wheel when the van is parked.

Not only is it a really good viable deterrent but it reminds me to remove the gismo before starting the van !

Altho my van has an immobiliser here is my anti theft devises. Oxford motorbike chain round the pulled up high clutch pedal and another round the door handle and steering wheel. The one round the wheel if pulled on blows the horn.

Jack van up remove wheel put on spare and your away,in less than 2 mins.

Simple ,just hacksaw through s/wheel of with chain van away,seen it done.
 
how far do you go ie, security wise, when I drove the seventies type cars and owned a few of them lol , I use to cut the ignition wire by a bout 10 inches and make my own adapted connections, night time just remove it, even if the thieves cut the wire which is already cut anyway, he would have no chance in hell of getting his hands on the car, but now with all sorts of electronics fitted to vans and cars the thought still occurs to me now and then but do I bother ?? no not with a Cat one alarm fitted and the camper parked on my drive behind a locked gate and in front of the locked gate I park my jeep.:shag::shag::shag::shag::shag::shag::shag::shag:
 
Put a wire and cloths peg to a horn in van with the other end fixed to garden fence,so when the try to move the peg will slip of connector and make a circ setting of van horn.
The connector can be behind or under van so you can easy fix at night in seconds.
Police used to do things like that here so bandits could not fit bomb under car as they would trip over wire and set alarm or horn of.

With every deterrent there is a way to remove or defeat it.
The point is they delay the theft or the scumbag may decide to go for an easier target, that will do for me.
To be honest if they are that desperate to remove my disklok steering wheel lock, bulldog road wheel lock, defeat the alarm and immobiliser and finally kill my English bullterrier because otherwise she would kill them they are more than wellcome to my motorhome. Finally when at home it's also parked behind 7' drive gates covered by security lights and cameras and my car is parked up against the gates.
If they still steal it thats what my insurance is for, I've got more important things to worry to be honest.

My 2003 Suzuki Pick-up doesn't have the immobiliser that the more modern cars have and there is no chip in the key, so any deterant is better than none.

Also i am told that the little micro vans are very sort after for pinching and shipping abroad and mine is a really good example of its type and i would be hard pressed to pick up (no pun intended) another of equal condition and reliability.

And as i tell people...the insurance may cover it but.............its a bloody long walk home :sad:

Simple thing to do here is fit a remote control switch breaker to the points pos feed wire,you can then disable the engine with the remote as you leave the van,there about £5 ebay and a simple job to do.

But as soon as they put any strain on the chain it will set the van horn off and it is quite a loud horn so would wake me up as the van sits outside bedroom window.
