Whats the best gas system

Just bought a couple of these

From what I can gather they are made in the same factory as the Safefill ones but are designed for permanent fixing. The have the same valves on top as the Alugas ones. I have one that weighs 6.01Kg and one that weighs 6.02Kg both need a retest in 2030. They both have the 80% cut off and come with a rupture valve built in. Cheaper than the alloy one and a bit more expensive than the steel ones.

Hmm, interesting, I'll have to go and have a look at that as an option. Thanks!

On the Pilote P696D the front part of the tray holding the bottles hinges down to make it easier to get the bottles out. I know that I won't be hinging it down any more as I've got a refillable but I'm not sure that attaching the filler to a moveable bit is such a good idea. Anyway, I'm going to get the small filler that I described earlier fitted into the side skirt this week.

I had the same problem with my new Pilote 696D - the side skirt under/near the gas locker isn't big enough to fit a standard Gaslow filler. My local(ish) dealer Knowe Park had a brainwave and sourced a small filler from Gaslow that's more commonly used on van conversions rather than coach builts. The slight disadvantage is that you always have to fit an adaptor to it (like you do with the European adaptors) even for filling in the UK, but it will go in the side skirt. Well that's the plan, it was about to be fitted when lockdown started. The small filler isn't on the Gaslow website but if you phone them up they know about it. Like you, I didn't really want to put the filler on the door, even though Gaslow assured me that the hose can cope with the flexing every time you open the door.
If you put the filler at the hinge side of the door with a short hose the travel is very small and should be over the cylinders therefore the flexing is very little. In my van the the skirt is so weak I would have severe problems attaching the pump hose.

It’s fine to fit Gaslow filler point and hoses to gas locker door but Gaslow say to use a 90 degree elbow off the filler not a straight one 👍
