What Tools and Spares do you carry?

A few have mentioned a multimeter ... we’ve lithium’s and Viktron MPPT 100/50 - do we need a multimeter? If we took any readings, I’d be back on here asking what they mean!
Checked our tool box and have most items ... not a long rod ... no intension of tyre changing ... MH nearly 5 ton.

Mine is 6.3 ton and i have had the back end up and axle change,your not getting the right amount of porridge lad.

I've just bought a UNI-T UT210 Mini Clamp Meter, the pros reckon it's a decent well
made meter. Even with just a basic knowledge of electrics it's worth having in a motorhome
and around the house. About £30.
Your MH 5 tonne, well mine is 7 tonne and with proper jack placement points it's easier and safer
to get off the ground than many a sub 3.5 tonne supplied with a shite scissor jack. Mind you
the wheels weigh a fair bit. I don't know how the manufacturers get away with the supply
of a jack, judged by many as not fit for purpose.

Same as already mentioned, except that I've just added a spare rubber door mat - it's a sort of tool, I suppose. This was after I got stuck in some wet grass and wished I had another one so that I could use them to get traction.

Did you lift the backend manually Trevor? I only see axle stands, no jack.

Or spinach? Girlie, actually. And james is 72 and lost muscle with hormone treatment. Also lack of confidence in our own abilities.

i must confess i do have a 6.5 ton jack,but it takes porridge to get it out the garage to the truck.:wacko:

Why not sort your nuts out before you go anywhere rather than carry scaffold poles, or do you like overtight nuts.

There is nothing wrong with my nuts :lol-053: .I like plenty of extra leverage for the times I have stopped to help others.

I carry all sorts of tools I probably don’t need. If weight was an issue then a spare wheel and breakdown cover would suffice.

I once got stuck in the woods, and had to use a chain and puller to get me out.
Not anymore, I have a 12v winch, strops, D shackles, ropes and earth anchor, including the standard bread basket plates.
Yes it does add weight to the motorhome.
I also have a small electrical wiring toolbox, but no large spanners or other tools, other that what is needed to change a wheel, including swopping the useless scissor jack for a heavier bottle jack.
I have breakdown cover for whatever else happens.

If you have Breakdown Cover with the Caravan Club you could save yourself some weight. They include towing you out of fields and specialist equipment to get you back to the road. Wish I had been a member when we got the Swift Bolero bogged down in a field. Took me well over an hour to dig it out and get back near the road. Didn't half make a mess of the camping field. Their fault she should have told me that the hardcore under the grass only went up the middle of the field for about 100 yds then vanished.
