What Sports person do you admire for their competiveness in older years?

My two boyhood sporting heroes both had the initials "S.M.".

Stanley Mathews.
I had the honor of meeting Stan (he insisted that I called him "Stan") in 1987 when he did the draw for the Littlewoods cup on GMTV.
We spent a couple of hours together in the green room, he was a true gentleman.
He was in his 70's at the time, but still joined the odd junior match in South Africa for a kick about. He told me that he could only play 45 minutes but would join the losing side for the second half, he liked the thought that a lot of African kids could claim to have played against Stanley Mathews, and beaten him.

Sterling Moss
The greatest driver never to be world champion.
To celebrate Sterling's 80th birthday Lord March organised an 80-car parade on each of the three 2009 Goodwood Revival.
Moss drove a different car each day: a Mercedes W196 Monoposto, the Lotus 18 in which he had won the 1961 Monaco GP, and an Aston Martin DBR3.
