What is the best, most useful, advice you've been given by other members, either on this site or on a Rally?

This is something that I cannot deny annoys me on forums -and just about all forums .... someone posts a query or a perfectly sensible thread.
Someone else replies with an off-topic comment that is intended, I suppose, to be humorous and the whole thing denegrates into a pointless mass of posts and the OP wonders why the hell they bothered.

Maybe just my lack of appreciation for farce and slapstick?

Sorry David but I take slapstick extremely serious.
Seriously (really honest), like most on here I go from being serious to being humorous (well I try) and I think the forum is better for it. If you look through thread you will see some good posts as well as the humour.

Without the humour, controversy, and at times even hostility I don’t think this forum would be the same, and worse off without it.

Anyway I have stated the best advice received on here, what’s yours David.

I wanted to get a lithium battery when they got cheap enough. Phil Admin suggesting diy Chinese cells has really worked well for me. For less the the price of a 100ah lithium I got 200ah of cells and because it was diy I could arrange them to fit into the space under my car that only held an 80ah AGM before. A 100 ah lithium would have been very difficult to fit and might have been a bit lower than anything else under the camper.
It has had its problems but a year later with preheat systems working if the battery is too cold I now have a system that has 5 times the previous capacity even when the AGM was new and much more than twice the alternator charging capacity. That is twice plus lithium bulk charges almost until full unlike AGM which quickly reduced from a nominal 30 amp to an absorbtion trickle
I also got help from David with a new victron solar controller.
