Have been mooching over re-painting our old camper, fibreglass shell.

A friend says it's OK to hand paint, but what with?

Or, is it best to have it professionally done?

Anybody done this and have an idea of what it might cost? It's an Autosleeper Ford Legend.

Best to use a roller I did my first camper with a roller
just using normal gloss paint and when it was dry it looked
like a professional finish better than with a brush but you may
need to use a brush in small awkward places

If you use 'transport paint' and a radiator roller .....it will dry to a shine.....take it gently as you will get very fine bubbles on the surface of the applied paint which will burst and leave a smooth finish....if you do it too quickly the odd bubble will shrink but not burst completely.

hi far better to have it done in two pack paint . sticks really well and looks great. but thats sprayed.
mind have known many a good looking job done with temac or pearl tractor paint . brush the edges then fine roller the rest on .
dont use fluffy sheepskin rollers . another one we used to use was tekloid .or even valspar .but not sure if they are available these days . coach or tractor paint is best . its made for the job.

Thanks for the info folks, that's really helpful.

Now all I need is some consistent fine weather. (oops! There goes a flying pig).

:D
