A friend has asked me to install an electrical supply to his detached garage. For one reason and another the cable, to go to the garage from his house, will have to go overhead. While looking at the job I mentioned that it would have to be high enough to allow for the passage of any vehicles future residents may want to drive past the garage, onto a hard standing he also owns. At this point Kev' told me that he and his wife are actually hoping to buy a 2 birth Motorhome in the very near future.
Now the question; at what height would the knowledgeable, collective of Wild-Campers, recommend I install the cable to allow a Motorhome to safely pass underneath ?

Thanks in advance
Jon

Thanks for such a prompt reply. I am going to have another look at the job this afternoon and I will take some twine and string it across the gap at 3.5metres and let he see what it looks like.

Mine is an A class at 3.01m, but for the sake of the ferry company it is only 3m. :p shhh!

Tricky question there are now many regulations governing Electrical Installations and who is allowed to do them.

Overhead cable span with vehicle access should be 5.2m high in the centre of the span without vehicle access 3.5m
