What does wildcamping mean to you.

The further I am from other folks the happier I am frankly.... Living on a terrace street I quickly get the yearning to dissappear off into the distance as often as possible.

I'm getting older and grumpier and more antisocial as time goes on.

I use a mixture of wilding, cl types sites, and meets. I like the isolation of wild camping with no need for booking and the fun of choosing a really nice spot. I’ve very rarely had to share a spot with another van.
I started of wildcamping with tents on motorbikes

Then proceeded via various tents to a biggie.

And finally to a motorhome

I really love the comfort of having a van, especially in the winter. I’ve still got tents but doubt if they will ever be used again. Wilding in a van is wilding in a tent for the elderly.

Wildcamping to us, is wherever we find free peace, nature and solitude. There are many times when we choose to park near to a town or in an Aire but you get different things from each place. I love feeling that we have found a place nobody else knows about, even though that is unrealistic! Never park near others if we can avoid it, maybe one or two nearby if in an Aire or town, but why intrude on someone elses peace?

"Then again some are just too tight to spend anything so wild camping means everything for free" painting with a rather broad brush there.

Not everyone has loads of dosh to spend willy nilly on bloody expensive camp sites.

I don’t have loads of dosh either and the vast majority of the time I spend in the van (which is often) I don’t pay to stay. I need to empty cassettes at some point though as well as wash clothes if we haven’t been back home so I do t begrudge getting a site for this. I don’t get the expensive sites though but did have to pay £25 a night when we got caught in an amber weather warning a few weeks ago but normally if I use one it’s the cheaper cl’s

Not sure why you think there is something wrong with the statement, it’s a fact some people do not want to pay for anything and I have heard people who can easily afford to pay moan about paying. I don’t care if someone wants to pay and stay or never go near sites far better they get out the house and see something rather than the tv. I did end up by saying just enjoy it with a smiley face.
