What do you use to polish your van?

Your right! We are victims of our system. The system that allows English to sit on benefits and not take jobs that are there. If these jobs were filled no one could take them off us
 
Last year while visiting the Burstner factory in Germany I asked this question. NO came back, you do not polish (aluminium sided vans) at all, or the polish sits on the surface and attracts the muck and increases black streaks.

Mine is an A Class and painted silver, advice was just wash it with quality soap.
 
Polish

Any polish of the type that has no abrasive content. It's the sort of polish that truck drivers use. It's expensive but worth it mines called Harley it costs £22.00 a tin and is fairly easy to use, an electric polisher would help. It should be used with a
Road grime remover Wash.

I've tried both cleaning methods,just washing an aluminium sided van only and also polishing an aluminium sided van.

In my experience there was no difference in the ubiquitous black streaks,both methods attracted them equally.The big difference was removing them,the one which had carnauba wax polish applied was much easier to clean,it was a doddle getting the black streaks off with a minimum of effort.
 
Id recommend a good read of of this web site, lots of choice. Car Care Products | Car Detailing | Car Cleaning Products Modern vehicle paints on metal are water based and benefit from protection. With a bit of effort I think that vehicle life can be greatly extended. I've got two vehicles that I've had for over 25 years and still look as good as new.
Presently I wash my van with muc off caravan cleaner after every tour and use a good wax on the cab twice a year. I also use Greased Lightning whilst away, but Im not sure if this helps protection.
 
The waterless wash and wax from Aldi is good to take away with you. It cleans the flies off the front well and leaves it waxed. Keeps me amused on a cloudy day in Benidorm.

I threw a stick at a cat in the garden yesterday.

The cat just looked back at me; maybe thinking "what, I'm not a dog I don't fetch sticks".
 
We are due 37mm of rain, this weekend, after a year of almost drought.

The first 10mm has arrived in the last hour, filling our cisterns and washing the van.
I'd almost forgotten that it was originally white.
Whoopee!

Nowt wrong with getting stoned at a BBQ.

But a BBQ was really tempting fate. Give her our thanks,we were down to less than 2 weeks water in our cisterns.

Enough for 8 weeks now, with more rain tomorrow.

The only time my vans clean is when it's in my drive it takes me all day to wash and polish . My neighbours think I'm nuts to them it looks like that's all I do. And every time I move the dam thing it's pissing so the van just gets mokit. But that's ma fn life 🚜🚌..
