Wouldn’t it be nice?
Hi Everybody I am on MH forums fairly often and I see the same names crop up time and time again, most under an AKA rather than their real name. Nine times out of ten they have an avatar which is either funny or a picture of their MH or their dog, “please be aware that I’m not insulting your wife or partner” it’s your four legged friend I’m talking about.
What I would like to see is a picture and name of the person or persons I’m talking to as their avatar and perhaps their AKA as their real name.
I think it would be beneficial when we go to meets as we could recognize people easier who we have talked to and get to know one another better.
Just my thoughts, what do you think??
Best Wishes Tony

Hello Tony

As you can see, I've got my real name by my avatar and if you click to my profile, there's a photo too. Do so at your own risk though, especially if you're of a nervous disposition :raofl: A lot of the info people used to have in their profiles disappeared after the last major software update, so I suspect a lot of people just haven't gone back to fill in their name, etc, again. I quite like people having quirky avatars though... often a lot more memorable for recognising posters than a photo would be.

My avatar is a picture of me, I can post on the forum but they don't let dogs drive so I have a human (well, sort of a human) called Terry to drive me around:dog:

I can think of three Jennies on the site including yourself so an avatar user name is useful you know who you are replying too or addressing

I like seeing what people choose for their avatars, I do sometimes try & imagine what someone look like from the way they write posts.
I think it would be a good idea to have a members gallery for full members only to post a picture of themselves if they want to.
I won't need to as my avatar looks a lot like me anyway!

Phill (real name)

Mine is a picture of me, but I don't know who the bloke is though

The above is the closest likeness i could find

As for my name i cannot remember and now answer to .................. Hey You :mad1:

The last time SWMBO mentioned my real name was during our wedding back in the early 80`s :scared:

I would love to put up my photo...
But George Clooney would sue me for breach of copyright.

Paul since we were photographed together, it will reassure you to know that I have had the pics blown up , laminated and pasted to my front door,

Jennys pic wards off Jeohavas and other denomintaions Jenny as my friend they assume a respectable lady, therefore I don't need their godliness and quite rightly regard me as a fine upstanding young man a pillar of the community.

Your picture is useful too, I find Everest salesmen, EON, British Gas et al leave me well alone.

Coupled with me answering the door in Kaftan and Wellingtons it works a treat

bet you're nick-named Celeriac Cid

As the forum is open to all, although I have nothing to hide, I much prefer to keep things as they are, I am on FB, but don't post very often for that very reason, if you go to a meet then you could always get little name tags made up with their forum name on, with a space to add their real name, when you go round giving them out you would get to chat to all the members too. You start to remember names and their forum names the more meets you get to, which makes another good excuse for going to them.:)

My avatar is me but taken a couple of years ago I am grey haired now but much the same .

As good looking as I am I feel its not fair to show the other male members up (and lets face it they are an ugly bunch) so I display an avatar of my lovely wife sat on her scooter at Mont St Michel. Other forums arent so lucky.
