What bin?

In Orkney, we get free bin bags, black for general waste, and green, white, and blue for different recycled waste. They are obviously optimistic about recycling as they give us loads of the recycling bags (and I mean loads, we are buried in them!). These also happen to be just a bit bigger than a pedal bin liner so we always have a roll of these in the van. As it is a self-build I incorporated a pedal bin under the kitchen unit.

In three years, I must have got through four, maybe five bins. Damage is almost 100% done by my size 9’s. The bin I’m using atm, is almost all gaffer tape. Held in place by a magnet to the passenger seat frame. I believe it’s demise is imminent 😢

We use a small bin and empty it every day, recycling what we can as we go as well. The bin is in the shower and we just place it outside whilst in use, very handy for toilet paper as we don’t flush this.
The silly door bin has gone which gives us more space to walk past, one of my pet hates is when people open the door and the bin is outside !!! Just me ;)

We use a freestanding bin which lives in the shower. Along with dog food, bathroom scales, wine and a portion on my clothes. We don't shower much!!

Ditto! (y)

I bought a really good - not too big, not too small - rectangular Brabantia bin for £5 (bargain!) from our local Argos Clearance warehouse a couple of years ago.
Perfect size and pretty robust.

Not possible to fit one of the door type bins on the current camper, but this one actually works much better anyway.

My bin is second step to the beds.............

Here in Ireland we have a disposal problem when we go into the republic. Bins and litter bins are scarce unless you use sites only. On a day to day basis we simply use 15 litre drawstring bags hung on a convenient tea towel hook, or supermarket bags. These are a rarity since we are pretty efficient at using bags for life.
Cans, cardboard and recyclable plastics simply get squashed and stored in a bucket in the garage until home or recycling point presents itself.
We have virtually no food waste, but used Oil and food debris from pots etc is poured into one of those M&S tubs that hold mini chocolate rolls etc. This way we avoid putting it down the sink drain or into a hedge etc. It can be disposed of at home.
We also carry a 50litre drybag. Popular with us canoeists and sailing types. Heavy durable plastic with a roll and clip top to seal it. The tied up waste bags used in the van end up in this drybag in the garage until an opportunity arises or we are on a site or home.

Many garages have a big bin round the back down souf. ;)

Tesco bag hung around the back of front seat headrests held with a bungee cord, cheap as chips. (y)
