What are you doing this weekend

Alone again naturally. Cue song. Nik's still looking after daughter and Milly (still peanut to me ).
I'll have a quiet couple of minutes around 11. Then tidy the garage again. Apparently, it didn't pass the last inspection. Sometimes I mistakenly answer, "Yessir, Sgt Major", instead of "Yes Dear". Coming briskly to attention. Funny how drill moves never leave you.
Got to keep busy, going to try NOT to think about Ctek all day. There you go, failed already.

Stay well.

our local CofE did a beautiful service to a packed church for this Commemorative Day. CofE and Methodists and non-church goers provided a lovely service. A list of all those who died from this Parish was read out at the end of the service, and muffled bells rang at the exact time WW1 ended. The morning ended with a soup and bread lunch for anyone who wanted. It was great to see several young children laying wreaths on the church WW1 Memorial and several representatives of all Armed Forces were there also. i never go to church, but this was a very special day to commemorate the dead and a chance to recognise that their deaths have given us the freedoms we take for granted here in UK. So many countries are still subjected to tyrannical regimes and their people are silenced, imprisoned, murdered and abused. We have freedom of speech and a democracy.

Days like today allow us to reflect on how rich our lives are ......

Stayed Friday night at Kendal cricket club and Saturday night at tan hill inn cold beer, warm fire and a good band on

Off the SORN and ready to go

I'm almost back in travel mode after being SORNed for almost 2 years.

I was planning to cross the channel on 14th Nov, but last week's stormy wet weather has delayed me slightly, now plans are adjusted for this Sunday,

After a quick visit to Adinkerke for chocklit & ciggies, I plan to drive towards Marseilles where I will decide on a left or right turn.
One way is Iberia the other will be Italy and Greece. I think it will be the latter.

Lakes Friday evening then travel up to Mellon Udrigle Sat/Sun. will then meander down to Applecross for a couple of nights parking up at Toscaig Pier. Finally onto Skye to visit friends near Neist Point lighthouse. Need to be home for Monday 26th for grandparent duties.
Wil leave home with full gas, Diesel, water and more food in van than in house lol so weather can do what it likes !
