Arrived at park up, turned the water on and it was pouring out a gaping hoke half way down the tap. First for me.

That looks like frost/pessure damage but in an unusual place for it

It certainly threw me, gaffer tape ok for now. Might be back for advice on fitting a new one....

Gaffer tape rarely lasts long on a tap. Get a roll of self-amalgamating tape. That will last until you get a new tap.

Got a new mixer tap and have successfully fitted it. Took a bit of work to get the sink out and then unbolt things with limted access. Happy days.
